After an early breakfast and check-out, depart from Tbilisi towards the Georgia-Armenia border at Sadakhlo-Bagratashen.
Following border formalities, meet your Armenian team and begin your discovery of northern Armenia. Travel through the landscapes of the Debed Canyon, following the river past steep hillsides, small villages, and monasteries overlooking the valley. Scenic stops along the way offer opportunities to enjoy the views and take photographs.
Your first visit is to Haghpat Monastery, an atmospheric medieval complex set above the canyon. Explore its stone churches, quiet courtyards, and intricately carved details as your guide introduces the monastery’s place in Armenia’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
Continue to the nearby Zarni-Parni Cave-Fortress Complex, where natural rock shelters and defensive walls blend into the hillside. Discover the restored cave spaces and small museum, offering a glimpse into the traditions and everyday life of the region. Take time to admire the surrounding gorge before continuing your journey.
Later, visit Sanahin Monastery, a historic centre of learning nestled in the village above Alaverdi. Walk through its interconnected churches and shaded galleries, discovering carved stone crosses and the architectural details that give the complex its distinctive character.
After the visits, continue towards Yerevan, watching the scenery change as you leave the wooded landscapes of Lori behind.
Upon arrival in the evening, check in to your hotel and relax after a full day of travel and discovery. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy an independent stroll to Republic Square or dinner at a restaurant of your choice.

Visit Garni Temple, set above a dramatic gorge, and discover its distinctive classical architecture. Descend into the gorge to admire the basalt columns of the Symphony of Stones.
Continue to Geghard Monastery, where rock-cut chambers and stone courtyards create a memorable atmosphere.
Complete your countryside discoveries with a traditional lavash-making experience, watching the bread being prepared in a tonir oven and tasting it freshly baked.
Return to Yerevan in the evening.
- Day 6
After breakfast, travel south towards Khor Virap, one of Armenia’s most evocative monastery settings. When the weather is clear, Mount Ararat rises beyond the surrounding plain.
