We’ll begin our journey in Borjomi, a charming resort town famous for its natural mineral waters and beautiful forested surroundings. Enjoy a relaxing walk through Borjomi Central Park, taste the renowned mineral water directly from its source, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of this historic spa destination.
Next, we’ll explore the magnificent Rabati Castle in Akhaltsikhe, an impressive fortress complex reflecting centuries of Georgian history and cultural influences. Wander through its beautifully restored courtyards, admire the towers, gardens, and distinctive architecture, and discover the stories behind one of southern Georgia’s most remarkable landmarks.
Our journey continues to Vardzia, an extraordinary 12th-century cave monastery carved into the dramatic cliffs of the Erusheti Mountain. Explore its fascinating network of rock-hewn chambers, ancient passageways, and historic churches, including the remarkable Church of the Dormition with its medieval frescoes. Enjoy spectacular views of the Mtkvari River valley while discovering the legacy of Queen Tamar and Georgia’s Golden Age.
