Overview

Spend a day exploring Georgia’s dramatic mountain scenery, from the historic Ananuri Fortress and Zhinvali Reservoir to the famous Gudauri viewpoint and the mountain town of Stepantsminda.

Along the way

Schedule

We’ll begin with a visit to Ananuri Fortress, known for its historic towers and churches.
We’ll stop at Zhinvali Reservoir to admire its turquoise waters and mountain scenery. It’s a lovely spot to take photos before continuing along the Georgian Military Highway.
At the Friendship Monument, enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding mountains.
In Stepantsminda, take in the views of Mount Kazbek and visit Gergeti Trinity Church, perched high above the valley. A local 4×4 transfer to the church can be arranged.
